went out yardsaling this afternoon with staal and zane...we had some fun and found a treasure.

the first sale we went to was a bust but we stumbled across another sale nearby and we got this great 10 gal crock for $3.

lots of sweet things...

staal put some of his artwork and mine on some t-shirts (shirt in center looks better in real life...victim of my scratched lens)

visit to the local nursery yesterday and some major arm-twisting from staal resulted in some new pets...ok, so, he didn't have to twist all that hard.

and... 

made myself some sweet potato pie...paired nicely with coffee this morning.

in the clouds

i woke up a little before 6:00 this morning and looked out the window to the kitchen garden to see everything blanketed in a light, misty cloud.  it was raining a little bit and everything was quiet and still except for the tapping of raindrops on the roof, a nice, gentle way to wake.  

sad morning discovery

i found one of the ducks dead when i opened the shed to let them out and feed them this morning.  they'd all seemed fine when i tucked them in for the night.  i always spend a little time with them, checking their condition before i close them in in the evening.  maybe i missed something.  i'm not sure what happened.  they could have been spooked in the night and she may have been trampled or she may have eaten something terrible in the afternoon that caught up with her.  
ducks are such sweet creatures and they bring a lot of joy to me.  it's always sad to lose one of them.
