been a very wet december. 18 inches of rain so far this month according to the gauge in the garden. some heavy rain earlier today put more water down the creeks than the culverts that run under triangle road could handle so things got a little floody for a while...
the rain has lightened up enough for most of the overflow to recede. another period of heavy rain is expected sometime between 6pm and 9pm this evening.
going to be a soggy new year!
Oh wow! That is really kind of fun to see, even though in other areas maybe not so fun with mudslides and falling rocks. We are wading through deeeeeep mud in the chicken coop (yuck), and had a tiny amount of big mud puddles (compared to you guys). I did go out and sweep the drainage ditch area in the front for the ups and mail man would have so much to have to jump across. Overall, it’s Just soggy…
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for the New Year’s Day to be one sunny day and break from rain. One day for us to go out and play, and for the ground to dry up a bit, before another week of rain. I actually bought and umbrella, the first in many years. <3 Aischa
